Art Education
As an art educator, I experience first-hand the positive impact art has in students’ lives. Engaging in art classes allows students to express themselves in new ways. The curriculum standards incorporates four key understandings including: creating, producing, responding, and connecting. As students learn how to connect artistic ideas with personal meaning they develop key skills that reach into all areas of life.
Student Work
Experimenting with Shadows
Students were given the challenge of using using various objects or crafting their own to discover new shapes through shadows.
Sculpture
Students were given the freedom to express themselves through sculpture. This project brought to light what students are wrestling with in today’s society.
